Mimi Jeffries (she/her) holds a B.A. in Theater Studies and Anthropology from Yale College and an M.F.A. with distinction in Screenwriting from Columbia University. Mimi's writing has been recognized by the Nantucket Film Festival, Slamdance Film Festival, the podcast Scriptnotes, and the Page International Screenwriting Awards. She has also been a finalist for the prestigious HBOAccess Writing Fellowship.

As an educator, writer, and filmmaker who has worked with middle school, high school, and college-aged students for over a decade, Mimi is passionate about using creativity and discovery to guide students in organizing their thoughts, expressing their ideas on paper, and developing their authentic voice.

Many of Mimi’s students have gone on to explore writing beyond academic assignments and have been recognized in several prestigious competitions.

Beyond providing academic and creative support as a writing coach, she has supported over 100 students in navigating the complexities of college admissions essays amid rigorous academic environments.

From brainstorming Common App essay topics to advising on waitlist letters, Mimi guides students and their families in developing resilience, communication skills, and confidence in the face of an increasingly competitive applicant pool.
