Alongside her coaching practice, Mimi is an active filmmaker and artist. Her first short, Open Roads, won screenwriting awards at the Nantucket Film Festival and HollyShorts Film Festival. Her short film Lily premiered at the 2017 Dallas International Film Festival and is featured online on The Bureau of Creative Works and No Budge. Her shorts have been particularly noted for the caliber of acting, especially Mimi's ability to draw out nuanced performances from young actors in films dealing with complicated themes.

Mimi's dramatic and comedic writing has been recognized by Columbia University’s MFA Film Program, Nantucket Film Festival, Slamdance, the podcast Scriptnotes, and Page International Screenwriting Awards. She was a finalist for the 2019 HBOAccess Writing Fellowship.
In addition to writing and directing, Mimi has produced several shorts, including Dastaar (SXSW 2016, Short of the Week) and Socks & Bonds (2014 Palm Springs Short Film Festival, Short of the Week, USA Today).
